Access Community Television Vancouver shamesslessly promotes our friends and communities on Shaw cable 4 in Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley. We dare, we plan, we sweat and we endure and prevail.
We are volunteers leveraging sweat equity and equipment, studios, mobile production units and human resources available at cable companies to train individuals and crews in television production techniques.
There are three key components of the Canadian broadcasting system: Public, Commercial and Community Broadcasting.
In Metro Vancouver, ACCESS-TV (Association of Chinese Canadians for Equality and Solidarity Society) and precursor, via Saltwater City Television Collective since 1994, have led and exercised legislated public access to cable community channel resources and cablecasts to support their campaign against anti-racism, to gain social justice, build community history and aid their group development. The production and broadcast of programs formed the core of the local redress movement.
Regularly scheduled broadcast on Shaw cable 4:
2am Tuesday (early morning)
